Our Dogs
Liesel vom Coraschatten “Piper”
Piper is the ideal “first” hunting dog, in that she’s extremely cooperative and forgiving of any training mistakes. She is a very smart, methodical hunting dog. Her hunting style is very thoughtful and she retains a vast mental library of likely bird covers worth investigating. She’s especially skilled at blood tracking and is our number one dog for big game recoveries.
She is the mother of our A litter and produced a nice set of dogs with good temperaments and excellent natural abilities.
Acacia vom Holzbach “Abby”
Abby has a ton of natural talent and was born with her feet in motion. She loves to search and is our best bird finder. Her outsized personality keeps us entertained and her passion for hunting is infectious. She especially enjoys rabbit hunting, probably because it also involves a good chase.
She is the mother of our B litter and we are very proud of the fine hunting dogs and companions that each of the pups has grown to become.
Bridger vom Holzbach “Blaze”
Blaze isn’t the dog we planned to have, but one the universe knew we needed. Blaze’s original home didn’t work out, so we took him back to address some of his behavioral issues resulting from a lack of confidence. While we fully intended to place him in a new home, we got a little attached and decided to make him a permanent part of our family.
We owe him an enormous debt of gratitude for what we’ve learned about training beyond just hunting skills, especially the importance of clear communication and establishing a positive bond between handler and dog. He’s made us better dog owners and trainers and we now have a deep passion for helping other dogs and people in similar situations.
